This five-day  Mindfulness Compassion Retreat (4 nights, 5 days), provides participants with a relaxed space away from home where there is plenty of time to practice mindfulness. There is also a chance to learn a range of compassion practices and to take time out to enjoy the sunshine and what nature has to offer in this beautiful location. The retreat will be a mixture of practical exercises, meditations and also talks about mindfulness and compassion. Moreover, we will have the opportunity to connect with the compassionate part of ourselves and learn how to nurture it, thereby increasing our well-being, sense of purpose and connection.

In addition, there will also be opportunities for physical exercise including yoga, Qi Gong and walking for those interested. Every day several hours are set aside for free time including the chance to go to the beach for sunbathing and swimming.

 Mindfulness Compassion Retreat

Thursday 14th of September to Monday 18th of September 2017.

Arrivals from Thursday at 3pm. You will have the opportunity to unpack and then get to know the surroundings. You can even go for a swim on the beach before dinner if you arrive early enough!

The Mindfulness Compassion Retreat ends with lunch on Monday at 1:30pm. (All times are local Spanish time)

Who is it for?

All are welcome, though some experience of practicing mindfulness would be an advantage.

The Centro Mariápolis Loreto (Mas Dausà ) is a beautifully renovated 17th Century Tower House. It is located in the scenic area of Costa Brava on the Catalonian Coast, on the North-East of Spain.
The retreat centre itself is situated in the historic town of Castell d’Aro. This beautiful town is only two km from Platja d’Aro (the beach).  The town boasts a wonderful  historic town centre, which has a well-preserved medieval charm.

The programme of the Mindfulness Compassion Retreat includes free time to visit Castell d’Aro. You can also enjoy the beach of Platja d’Aro with its many  sandy coves and rocky areas to explore.

Airlines travelling from Dublin to Barcelona: Aer Lingus, Ryanair, Vueling Airlines. There may also be others too so please check out what’s available online. Vueling Airlines seem to have better deals than either Ryanair or Are Lingus at the moment.

Please note: Airline Prices are high if you book in July and August. But these prices are much lower from Spain RetreatSeptember 1st if you can wait until then to book. However, best to book your place on the retreat before then, so that we can be clear about the numbers attending.

Participants are entirely responsible for organising flights to and from the retreat venue.

Dominic Cogan:
Mindfulness Trainer and Soul Empowerment Coach

Mindfulness Compassion RetreatDominic began practicing mindfulness almost fourteen years ago. He finds it a constant support in negotiating all the ups and downs that life offers us. He originally trained as a schoolteacher but has been involved in adult education both in Ireland and abroad for many years. Dominic continues to attend professional mindfulness trainings and retreats. He receives ongoing professional supervision and adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines set out by the UK and Irish Networks of Mindfulness Teachers.

Dominic teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses to the general public and organises mindfulness workshops in Dublin and the Irish Midlands. In addition, he offers introductory courses in mindfulness on request to community groups, businesses and public sector organisations. He has a growing interest in the links between mindfulness and compassion.

Sofia Noguera: Awareness Coach & Mindfulness Teacher

Mindfulness Compassion Retreat Sofia was born in Madrid. She has lived in Italy, Switzerland and more recently in Ireland, where she has been based for the past 10 years. Sofia has a wide experience as a videographer and multimedia operator. She started practicing different forms of meditation 25 years ago. In recent years, her enthusiasm to teach Mindfulness has spread into many different areas such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction as well as bringing mindfulness to teens through the .b programme. She is also keen to promote Compassionate Living as a key for personal and social transformation.  Sofia periodically runs retreats and workshops for adults and young people. She is also  a trained Mindfulness Coach giving  one-to-one sessions on demand.

Her commitment to deepen her practice has also brought Sofia to participate in numerous mindfulness courses  such as MBSR , Loving Kindness and Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT), among others. Sofia practices Yoga and Qi Gong regularly.
